I love you and want to see you succeed
No matter the cost for me
To see you thrive brings life to mine
To see you smile brings joy to my deepest pain
Many nights I have cried for you
Praying and hoping the Lord will bring you
To a better place further than I have ever been
Stronger than the weakest part of me
Larger than my very life
I pray that He endows you with vast opportunities, great wealth and countless talent
I pray that you receive every good
The very best of who we are
I pray that you are shielded from the worst of me and are able to climb beyond my deepest grave
But wait my child how can this be; all I see is the negative part of me
Lord, help my child grow beyond my darkest fear and push beyond my pain to be all that Your Word have proclaimed them to be
I love you my child and want you to succeed
but I can't see beyond the disappointing part of me
My child you are all grown up now
My heart was heavy and worn for you
But to see the conqueror you have grown to be
Has brought great delight inside of me
This overwhelming feeling is joyous and uplifting
It reminds me of my greatest achievement
The day I gave birth to the very best of me
The day I gave birth to you
